SFHD Joysticks

As a Christmas gift to the original creators of Sheng Long, "Sushi X" Ken Williams and "Trickman Terry" Minnich of EGM fame, my husband and I made them joysticks with the art being a screenshot of the new Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix but with their favorite characters defeating Sheng Long. The design of the joysticks was developed by my husband and we made them out of 3/4 MDF. Other supplies incuded Black T-molding on the front, Crystal Clear Acrylic tops and Professional Arcade parts. The wiring is PS2 controllers that are gutted and rewired to the buttons (courtesy of my husband and his l33t soldering skillz) and they have PS3 converters attached. The bottoms are masonite wrapped in a pleather grippy drawer liner material -- so you can shoryuken all day long and no slip!

We made 8 others but these are the only ones I created "original" art for. The rest were collabs or wallpapers with slight tweakings. 4 of them are pictured here [link]

It was a lot of fun to make the joysticks and the guys really seemed to appreciate the hard work that went into their creation. It was the least we could do for all they have done for us and the gaming community.
