As a Christmas gift to the original creators of Sheng Long, "Sushi X" Ken Williams and "Trickman Terry" Minnich of EGM fame, my husband and I made them joysticks with the art being a screenshot of the new Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix but with their favorite characters defeating Sheng Long seen here [link] and here [link]

Sheng Long's origin came from a mistranslation of the dragon punch or shoryuken which EGM made an April Fool's joke of and inadvertently made some kids very good (and very pissed) at Street Fighter. For more on Sheng Long go here [link] .

This is the "Character Select" Portrait of Sheng Long that I created imitating, at my best in the short time I had, the art style of Alvin Lee and coloring of Espen Grundetjern of [link]

When designing him, I made sure to include the headband and low ponytail, gray gi, white hair and flaming dragon punch/shoryuken fist seen in the original 1992 Hoax screenshot here [link]
but because it is the back of his head I used the hairline and goatee from the second rendition (by EGM's Mike Vallas) of the Sheng Long Hoax of '97 seen here [link] .

It was a lot of fun to make the joysticks and the guys really seemed to appreciate the hard work that went into their creation. It was the least we could do for all they have done for us and the gaming community.
